CHATHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 21, 2013) - AGRIS Co-operative Ltd. a 100 per cent farmer-owned grain marketing and agricultural co-operative has elected Mooretown farmer, Jim Maw as its board president at its annual meeting held in Chatham.
Jim Maw in his new role as AGRIS board president will represent more than 1,200 farm families throughout southwestern Ontario. At the same meeting, elected as vice-president was Larry Pajot from Windsor and as secretary Paul Repko from Kingsville.
"I have appreciated working with the individuals who make up a very professional board and I am honoured to have been elected president," says Jim Maw. "Many things have changed positively since I joined the board and I look forward to contributing to the ongoing change and growth as president," Maw added.
Maw has served as a co-operative director for more than 10 years and was first elected as a director of Orford Co-operative Ltd. in 2002. He also holds an advanced director certification designation from GROWMARK, Inc. Maw most recently served as AGRIS board vice-president and chair of the finance committee. He currently is a director of Haggerty Creek Ltd. and AGRIS Solar Co-operative.
Jim and his wife Brenda live in Mooretown and are the proud parents of three adult children, Kyle, Devon and Lacey. Maw farms 900 acres with his son Kyle along with custom work throughout the Brigden and Courtright area.
