More than 1,200 ticket holders take part in first Senators Fan Forum call

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 5, 2009) - As part of Ottawa Senators Fans First initiatives, the club today held a Canadian NHL team-first conference call with season-ticket and suite holders and team management.

The first Senators Fan Forum one-hour call was hosted by Gord Wilson, colour analyst on the club's radio broadcasts on The Team, and featured CEO and president Roy Mlakar, vice-president of marketing Jeff Kyle, general manager Bryan Murray, assistant general manager Tim Murray and director of hockey operations Brent Flahr.

"We're excited to be the first NHL team in Canada to do a fan forum," said Mlakar. "We had 1,241 tickets holders on the call. In the year of Senators Fans First, this initiative was very well received. We had tremendous feedback."

Following a 20-minute overview from Mlakar, Kyle and Bryan Murray, callers were invited to ask their questions directly to the group. Topics included the team's plans for the NHL draft, signing free agents in the summer, the trade deadline and promotions for out-of-town supporters. The club also did several polls with the callers throughout the one-hour forum.

The Senators Fan Forum will be available on the club's website -
