More Than 50 Blu-ray Disc Titles Authored With Ensequence Create Interactive Software

Movie Studios Worldwide Ramp Up Blu-ray Disc Development as Blu-ray Sales Gain on Standard DVD

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - December 17, 2008) - Ensequence, the interactive television company, announced today that more than 50 Blu-ray titles have been developed using its Create software. Dozens of titles are released each month using the software, which enables creative teams to quickly and easily design and develop interactivity for Blu-ray Discs without requiring advanced knowledge of Java and the BD-J specification.

"The increase in demand for Blu-ray Disc titles means that our content developers need to quickly create compelling, rich and dynamic interactive experiences," said Don Eklund, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's EVP of Advanced Technology. "Ensequence Create software enables our production teams to create a wide range of interactive experiences in a fraction of the time that it takes with Java programming methods."

"By offering an intuitive drag-and-drop creative environment for Blu-ray Disc, Ensequence makes it simple for studios and producers to create, test and deliver an entirely new class of interactive experiences for Blu-ray Discs in record time -- experiences that are more dynamic, more engaging and more effective," said Dalen Harrison, CEO, Ensequence. "With Ensequence software, creative teams don't need advanced knowledge of Java and the BD-J specification to take advantage of Blu-ray's vast interactive capabilities."

Explosive Blu-ray Growth

Sales of Blu-ray Discs are exploding, with market research firm Futuresource forecasting a 400 percent increase in sales this year, and predicting that half of all consumer spending on video discs will go to Blu-ray Disc by 2012. This tremendous growth makes Create software's drag and drop authoring environment, complete Photoshop integration and Blu-ray Disc wizard even more valuable to studios and authoring houses looking for a faster and more affordable way to produce interactive content for their Blu-ray Discs. Ensequence Create software provides robust Blu-ray Disc capabilities out of the box, including full control over target video content such as angle, audio and stream switching. The software also provides performance-optimized functions with benchmarking for animations and image scaling, one-click creation of image fonts with built-in kerning capabilities and many more production enhancing functions.

Ensequence recently integrated Create software with Sonic Scenarist, making it even easier for developers to create interactive Blu-ray titles. With the existing integration with Sony's Blu-print, Ensequence is now integrated with both industry leading Blu-ray authoring solutions. Ensequence Create enables compatibility across various players, and supports current and next generation Blu-ray Disc features including:

-- Advanced interactive menus and features like picture-in-picture
functionality (e.g. director's commentaries overlaid on top of the video),
    trivia and more
-- Flexible animations like fading and sliding
-- Innovative synchronized applications
-- Support for BD-Live including access to bonus content, notification
about sequels, purchase functionality, and more
