MorfBoard Fitness System Makes Your Workout Fun

Halfpipe Skating Icon and Personal Trainer Eitan Kramer Launches Action Sports-Inspired Portable Fitness System

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - October 27, 2015) - Bored with your workout?

Eitan Kramer, a world record-holding pro halfpipe skater, was too.

So Kramer, who has spent 10 years as a personal trainer, created a way to bring the passion, fun and creativity of action sports to the world of fitness.

His invention, MorfBoard, is an action sports inspired fitness system that completely changes how it works -- and how you work out -- in seconds, turning fitness into play.

MorfBoard has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise additional capital that will be used to develop proprietary molds for the deck and X-Tensions. Delivery of the first MorfBoards to backers is scheduled for summer 2016.

The heart of MorfBoard is its lightweight deck, which is designed to accommodate many different X-Tensions. Those X-Tensions, which currently include Bounce, Balance, Skate and ReBand, can be swapped out in seconds, giving users the freedom to work out and play how and where they want.

"We have created a whole new technology that fuses the DNA of action sports to the world of fitness," Kramer said. "Surfers spend all day in the water and they're shredded because of it. But that's not why they do it. They surf because it's fun and a creative expression of themselves. Our objective is for people to wake up in the morning and be stoked about their workout -- just like surfers wake up excited to hit the waves. MorfBoard will make people love the experience of working out."

Kramer's creative director and partner Eric Bergman based MorfBoard's sleek design on the same principles used to make surfboards, skateboards and snowboards. The experienced designer relished the challenge of building a modular system that was robust and worked equally well in any number of modes.

Together, Bergman and Kramer developed the Morph Modular System (MMS). The MorfBoard deck has ports on its sides and in the center. X-Tensions fit into those ports and are secured in place by the FlexTrigger mechanism, a springless lock that secures X-Tensions flush into the deck.

MorfBoard comes with the Bounce X-Tension, which is a fun way to get your cardio in and which makes moves like pushups and planks more challenging.

Although MorfBoard will continue to develop new X-Tensions, the company is launching with three optional X-Tensions:

  • Balance, which engages your mind, improves coordination and turns otherwise isolated movements into dynamic, full-body exercises -- and can help improve sports performance. Click to view video:
  • Skate, which brings fluidity and efficiency to moves like lunges, ab rollouts and hamstring curls. Its high-performance wheels, bearings and trucks also make it a great board for cruising. Click to view video:
  • ReBand, which brings resistance to the system, allows you to build your arms, back and chest -- and shred your core. Hook it to the Skate or Bounce X-Tension, or to the deck itself, and create brand new moves. Click to view video:

"Because MorfBoard is so versatile, it appeals to fitness enthusiasts of all levels," said Bergman. "We've received amazing feedback from action sports athletes and families looking for a fun way to spend time together -- and get fit."

MorfBoard is expected to retail for $249, and X-Tensions will cost $60 (ReBands) and $85 (Skate and Balance X-Tensions each). During the Kickstarter campaign, backers can order the MorfBoard for $175, and X-Tensions for $40 and $55 respectively, for a savings of $154 on the entire system.
