Morley Family, Founders of MPT, Establish Grant Program to Assist Mariners in These Tough Economic Times

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwire - October 15, 2009) - Maritime Professional Training's (MPT's) Founders recognize the difficult position many mariners are in this year. In the midst of a tough economy and a very competitive job market, many mariners have not had the funds to complete the necessary training and certification needed to compete in the industry. The Morley Family, founders of MPT located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, have instituted a variety of Grants to assist mariners in paying for their much needed job training.

"Having trained mariners for over 26 years and having all worked in the maritime industry, many as licensed deck and engineering officers at sea ourselves, we are very interested in helping mariners overcome any obstacle standing in the way of career advancement, especially with all of the new regulatory requirements everyone is facing these days," said Amy Morley-Beavers, Academic Principal at MPT.

Grants are available up to $1,000 and must be applied for through the Grant Department at the MPT Student Services Office. To further assist mariners having a tough year, there will not be any credit check or pay back obligation. These are strictly training Grants, not Loans. The Morley Family initially offered these Grants over the summer and hundreds of mariners were able to participate in the program. The Grants are available again through the months of October and November 2009. If you are at sea during this time, contact the office with your specific timeframe and MPT will endeavor to assist you. Call today for a Founders Grant Application +1.954.525.1014.
