Morrison Knudsen Awarded $450 Million Remedial Clean Up Project

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - September 23, 2015) - Morrison Knudsen Corporation has been awarded a $450 Million remedial and mine site clean up contract in Nevada. Morrison Knudsen will be responsible for cleaning up several abandoned mines and related areas throughout northern Nevada. Work is primarily on Shoshone Tribal lands along with Federal and State property. The contract includes removing all toxic material from the mines, re-mediating all tailings stockpiles and restoring the mines back to their natural state. The Company will also upgrade several roads and infrastructure on the sites. The project is jointly managed by the BLM, the EPA, the Department of the Interior and the State of Nevada. Work started on the project in August and is scheduled for completion in 18 months. The project has an option for extended clean up in additional mine sites subject to approval of all parties.
