The dentists were able to learn more about dental occlusion (the relationship between the positions of the upper and lower teeth) and how it relates to the management of TMJ Disorder. Drs. Romano and Vaccaro say a comprehensive understanding of the teeth's relationship to the joints and muscles of the mouth is imperative to helping identify the best way to treat patients diagnosed with TMJ Disorder.

With that in mind, the doctors say there are a number of TMJ Disorder treatment options available that can help patients who are suffering from the condition.
