Mortgage Architects Continues to Gain Market Share in BC With the Signing of Gerry Gillan

PITT MEADOWS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 18, 2008) - Veteran broker Gerry Gillan has made the move to Mortgage Architects, joining the strong and fast growing team of mortgage planners in the Lower Fraser Valley. Gillan cites the ability to better meet client needs, the Mortgage Architects' management team, and mortgage planning as the primary reasons for selecting Mortgage Architects.

"I wanted to take an entrepreneurial focus with my business and begin to offer my clients a better value package," said Gillan. In making this move, Gillan will gain increased control over his client relationships and be able to offer a wider range of options, including products available through exclusive lender myNext Mortgage Company.

Gillan comes to Mortgage Architects after spending 30 years with a major Canadian bank, 14 of which were spent in the branch system and 16 in mortgage sales, first with the in house division and then later at the bank's mortgage brokerage affiliate. Gillan has primarily focused on conventional lending and construction financing and is now looking to broaden his reach and offer mortgage services to new target markets.

Gillan was also attracted to the leadership team at Mortgage Architects. "I was certainly aware of Bob Ord's history in the industry, particularly his ability to deliver strong results and create a very professional culture." Gillan was also impressed with Alice Chan and the other members of the team when they visited Vancouver as part of their national roadshow. "After so many years in this business, you really get a feel for people who are trustworthy. I also liked the fact that they take communication with their sales team very seriously."

Gillan is currently focusing on hiring an assistant and ultimately building a solid team of associate mortgage planners. Gillan also plans to focus on mortgage planning and developing strong relationships with financial planners. "I get 65 per cent of my business from my existing database and their demographics are such that they are ready for mortgage planning," said Gillan. The timing of this move fits perfectly with the needs of my database."
