Morvillo LLP Continues Expansion With Addition of Former Assistant U.S. Attorney

Eugene Ingoglia to Enhance Firm's White Collar Defense & Securities Enforcement Practices

NEW YORK, NY and WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Dec 3, 2014) - Morvillo LLP, a White Collar Defense & Litigation boutique law firm with offices in New York and Washington, DC, is pleased to announce that Eugene Ingoglia, former Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, has joined the firm as a White Collar litigation partner in its New York office. Mr. Ingoglia has served as an AUSA since 2005 and has been a member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit since 2010. An accomplished trial lawyer, Mr. Ingoglia will be Morvillo's seventh former prosecutor, further enhancing the firm's ability to serve the widest variety of clients and mount the best possible defenses in their matters.

As a member of the Office's Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit, Mr. Ingoglia recently tried and convicted former SAC Capital portfolio manager Matthew Martoma in the government's criminal insider trading case, as well as prosecuted two JP Morgan Chase executives for their participation in derivatives trading activities involving the "London Whale." During his tenure at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Mr. Ingoglia served as the lead attorney in numerous other federal jury trials and complex White Collar investigations.

"Gene is an outstanding trial lawyer and is an excellent addition to our team. In joining a partnership comprised of former prosecutors, he gives us additional depth to our already significant ability to handle and to try sophisticated securities and business crime matters," noted Morvillo co-founder, Richard J. Morvillo. "We are also delighted to add a former Southern District of New York prosecutor to round out our collective government experience. Gene's addition further enhances the firm's reputation as a premier White Collar and Litigation boutique of exceptional trial lawyers."

Morvillo Partner Gregory Morvillo, who worked with Mr. Ingoglia in private practice, added, "Gene is a perfect fit for the firm because he is very highly regarded, both personally and professionally, by colleagues and former adversaries alike. He is not only a gifted trial lawyer who can anticipate his adversaries' arguments, but he is able to explain complicated cases in ways juries can understand."

"Joining Morvillo was a natural choice for me given its vast experience and impressive track record handling complex government regulatory and criminal investigations," noted Mr. Ingoglia. "They are trial-ready litigators and who take solving their clients' challenges personally. I look forward to joining the firm and helping the firm's clients navigate sensitive investigations and complex litigations."

Prior to joining the U.S Attorney's Office, Mr. Ingoglia was associated with Wilkie Farr & Gallagher and then with Dechert LLP. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and B.A. from Brown University.
