"Most Connected Real Estate Agent" Makes Sale on Twitter

HONOLULU, HI--(Marketwire - August 21, 2009) - Twitter is proving to be a useful tool for Honolulu Realtor Kelly Mitchell. It's one sale so far, but she believes there are more to come. Mitchell closed her first sale just recently when a Twitter friend asked her about property in the East Honolulu suburb, Hawaii Kai. "We met and after showing properties for a few months, I am happy to say, not only do I have a new friend and neighbor, I was able to find a home he and his family will be happy in for many years to come," a happy Mitchell said.

An award-winning Prudential Locations, Inc. real estate agent, Mitchell launched into the social media arena in a big way -- so big she was recently named to Proxio's Top 25 Most Visible Real Estate Agents worldwide and placed #24 on Roost's August list of the "50 Real Estate Agents You Should Follow on Twitter." Proxio and Roost are both involved in providing an international and global referral network for the real estate industry. In addition, she was also recognized as the most connected Realtor writer/blogger by Prudential.

A born networker, Mitchell marries her online passion with person-to-person contact. She serves as president of the Social Media Club Hawaii and Hawaii Kai BNI and is a member of the board of directors of Chaminade University Hogan Entrepreneur Program, Learning for a Lifetime Foundation and Locations Foundation.

Mitchell started using Twitter in November 2008. "My strategy was to have fun and meet new people. It quickly became part of my daily routine," Mitchell explained. She says she occasionally tweets about the real estate market, but usually about things she finds interesting, funny or noteworthy.

"I've met several people interested in real estate from all over the globe. I've always remained true to my own personality on Twitter and find those who engage with me share similar interests. Twitter has enriched my life and benefited my business," she adds. You can follow Kelly at and

Janet Case, co-founder and CEO of Proxio, said, "Social networking in the real estate industry is still in the early stages, but it is going to be an industry-changing phenomenon."
