Motel 6 Launches Third Annual "Great Teddy Bear Roundup"

Motel 6 Helps Local Agencies Comfort Children in Need

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - November 15, 2010) - Motel 6, known for providing guests with a clean, comfortable room for the lowest price of any national chain, will help bring comfort to those who need it the most this holiday season through the brand's third annual "Great Teddy Bear Roundup." With the season of giving fast approaching, Motel 6 will provide guests and the local community an opportunity to get involved in a good cause and assist those in need.

The "Great Teddy Bear Roundup" collects new, small to medium-sized teddy bears on behalf of each Motel 6's local law enforcement agency, fire department or hospital in need of a means to comfort children experiencing stressful or traumatic situations. More than 25,000 new teddy bears have been collected over the past two years at Motel 6 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

"The growing success of our 'Great Teddy Bear Roundup' over the last two years has warmed our hearts and strengthened our commitment to collecting teddy bears for the community," said Olivier Poirot, CEO of Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio 6. "We respect and appreciate the work of our local police, fire departments and social services and are proud to continue supporting them in their efforts to comfort children in need."

Beginning today, Motel 6 will encourage guests and community members to get into the holiday spirit by donating a new teddy bear to a local Motel 6 location, which can be found on

As an additional avenue of giving, Motel 6 encourages guests and the community to visit the Motel 6 Web site and make a monetary donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC). Motel 6 partnered with RMHC earlier this year to support and contribute to the charity's efforts on behalf of children and their families. Contributions to RMHC are accepted online via
