Mountain America Credit Union Recognized With Two Credit Union Journal Best Practice Awards

WEST JORDAN, UT--(Marketwired - December 28, 2015) - Mountain America Credit Union has been awarded two Best Practice Awards by Credit Union Journal. The first is for the Quick Close paperless mortgage process and the second is for the creation of its Member Experience Officer position.

"These awards reflect how talent, innovation, creativity and passion permeate our company culture through and through. Mountain America's teams are working on impressive initiatives dedicated to providing the best possible credit union experience where our members can achieve their financial dreams," says Marshall Paepke, EVP and chief administrative officer for Mountain America.

Mountain America partnered with Pavaso to implement a new, collaborative, digital closing process to provide a better mortgage closing experience called QuickClose for its members. In developing QuickClose, objectives included simplifying the process for borrowers to navigate and communicate between lenders, title companies and others while increasing the time the borrower has to review the entire closing package. Instead of receiving scanned copies of printed documents that had to be compiled, borrowers receive all documents related to the transaction digitally.

Mountain America was also recognized for the recently designed Member Experience Officer (MEO) position. The MEO is responsible for meeting all member needs, from basic account maintenance to loan closing and more. The effectiveness of this new position is reflected in Mountain America's member survey scores. Branches employing MEOs between April 1 and June 30 captured a 5% higher composite member service score than branches without MEOs.

Mountain America Credit Union has more than $4.9 billion in assets and serves more than 556,000 members, wherever they are, through online and mobile banking, 86 branches in five states and access to more than 30,000 ATMs and 5,000 shared-branching locations nationwide.
