Board of Directors.
He is a voice for MEC members who live in remote communities where MEC does not have a
store. "Where I live, MEC gear is not just for recreation. We use it every day to stay alive.
It was -20C last Sunday when I was building an igloo."
He's been a member of Mountain Equipment Co-op for 25 years and led more than 200
wilderness trips.
MEC is now 40 years old. Morrie's priorities for MEC include:
? Continuing to be Canada's leading source of great outdoor gear.
? Maintaining the quality of service provided by MEC's awesome employees.
? Building on the spirit that launched MEC 40 years ago and grew it to what it is today.
? Adapting the details of MEC's operations to the changing world.

Morrie brings many years of private sector corporate and retail experience along with his love
of the outdoors.
These days he reviews, analyzes and comments on activities of all parts of the Government of
Nunavut; its budget of $1.2 billion per year; and operations in 25 communities spread across
3 time zones.
Previously he helped executive management at a leading financial institution change the way
they understood their customers by providing the first consolidated picture of who those
customers were. "If you don't know your customers, how can you be of service to them?"
Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) election for its Board of Directors ends March 31,
