MP Rodney Weston Announces Economic Action Plan Investment in Innovative Local Business

Funding to Mariner Partners Inc. will help deliver high quality HDTV on demand

SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwire - Feb. 11, 2010) - Mr. Rodney Weston, Member of Parliament for Saint John, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology), today announced a contribution of $500,000 to Mariner Partners Inc. from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).

"Our government is investing in science and technology to create jobs, strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life of Canadians," said Mr. Weston. "This project will help a Saint John firm to expand their business and stimulate our local economy."

This $500,000 contribution will support the Saint John-based company to expand the monitoring and control system of its technology to gain higher customer acceptance of this new form of TV delivery via IPTV (internet protocol television). Technology improvements will ensure high quality TV, on demand and without interruption.
