MRED's Bergeron "Three-Peats" Inman News Honor Roll

LISLE, IL--(Marketwire - Dec 19, 2011) - Inman News™ has announced that Russ Bergeron, Chief Executive Officer of Midwest Real Estate Data LLC (MRED), has been selected as one of the 100 most influential real estate leaders of 2011.

The Inman 100 is an annual list of individuals whose actions have helped change the real estate industry in the last year through their leadership, innovation, ingenuity, power and persistence. The complete list of honorees is available on This marks the third year in a row that Mr. Bergeron has been selected for the Inman 100.

MRED has recently introduced what Bergeron calls "public service apps". These are programs that not only assist the customers of MRED, but directly improve the ability for a property to be sold. These programs include a Short Sale Assistance Desk that enables sellers with a short sale property to enlist the power of Fannie Mae to get the transaction closed.

"It is incumbent upon MLSs to break out of their role as data repositories to better enable their customers -- brokers, agents and appraisers -- to successfully conduct business in the down market in which we are all living today," added Bergeron.

Another popular public service app is a program whereby hundreds of down payment assistance programs are matched to for-sale properties, and subsequently matched to qualifying buyers. In a tight money market, maximizing the funds available for a down payment may make a huge difference to a buyer looking to live the American dream of home ownership.

"I am honored to be again recognized by Inman News," said Mr. Bergeron. "I consider this an acknowledgement of the great work done by all of us at Midwest Real Estate Data and the leadership position we have taken in the industry. I will continue to tirelessly push for those initiatives that benefit real estate professionals and MRED to the greatest extent possible."
