Multi-Wing Launches PressureMAX High Pressure Engine Cooling Fan

BURTON, OH--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) - Multi-Wing America introduces the PressureMAX blade profile, a high pressure fan designed specifically to help engine manufacturers meet the Tier 4/Stage III B emissions standards for off-highway diesel engine applications. The PressureMAX is a unique blade profile that generates up to 20 percent more static pressure than standard airfoil engine cooling fans. Designed to satisfy the high heat rejection requirements that result from Tier 4, the PressureMAX blade profile is also 5-7 percent more efficient than most airfoil blade designs, saving horsepower and fuel.

Multi-Wing designed the PressureMax high pressure fan in line with the low-noise airfoil and sickle blade profiles. The PressureMAX's high efficiency profile reduces air flow turbulence across the blade, resulting in a lower noise signature. High efficiency is the result of reduced turbulence across the blade surface, and air flow turbulence results in increased fan noise. The PressureMAX also has virtually zero blade deflection, and its narrow axial depth makes it a perfect high pressure engine cooling fan for tight installation spaces.

"The PressureMAX really evolved through our research and development in response to the needs of our off-highway diesel engine partners," said Multi-Wing International Group CEO in MWG Management Holding Jesper Bernhoft. "Tier 4 emissions standards created unique challenges for engine manufacturers, and we recognized that a high pressure fan with virtually zero blade deflection was the answer for engine compartments that require a compact cooling envelope. When we combined our broad experience in engine cooling fans and our extensive development technology to address the Tier 4 problem, our team delivered the PressureMAX high pressure fan."

With a diameter range of 24.5 to 51 inches, the adjustable pitch PressureMAX is a glass reinforced polyamide fan available in 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 16-blade configurations. The PressureMAX high pressure fan will be available to the global market in summer 2011.
