Billy Bean, former Los Angeles Dodger and Major League Baseball's Ambassador; Jason Collins, the first National Basketball Association (NBA) player to come out; and Bobby Blair, former world ranked tennis player, Founder/CEO of Multimedia Platforms, and author of Hiding Inside The Baseline participated in the event.

Hosted by the City of West Hollywood, the WeHo Pride Tennis Tournament marks the significant advances that continue to be made for the inclusion of LGBT athletes in mainstream sports associations and leagues. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) made history in January 2015 by adding same-gender couples doubles tournaments to its sanctioned list of competitive events in its popular adult division.
