Multiple Admin Functionality in Google+ Vital for Major Brands and Agencies Says Punch

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Dec. 21, 2011) - The launch of multiple admin functionality within Google+ will be integral to brand and agency involvement in the network and therefore its growth, according to integrated PR, search and social media agency, Punch Communications.

With brand pages having only been available on Google+ for a couple of months, thousands of brands have already leapt onto the network and started to grow and engage their respective communities. One of the biggest elements of Google+ competitor Facebook's growth has been brand and agency involvement in creating a richer environment for users on the platform and it's likely this is an aspect of growth that Google+ will want to emulate.

Alex Smith, account manager at online PR agency Punch, said: "Adding the capability for brand pages to have multiple administrators opens up many avenues for agency involvement. On one hand there is activity from a customer services perspective - agencies can play a major role in the ongoing engagement of an audience within social media, whilst also attending to any customer services issues - this would have been difficult to achieve with only one administrator. As a result, we predict that Google+ could soon see an increase in customer services activity across its brand pages.

"Another aspect to consider is the ongoing evolution of brand pages. It's likely that Google's aim is to provide a platform for creative engagement similar to the environment Facebook has created, but with better ties with Google's other services, the most obvious one being search. Multi-admin functionality will be vital in them achieving this and ultimately attracting more users to the network as a result."
