Multiple Sclerosis Association of America Honored for Excellence in Communications

A Grand APEX Award Is Given for MSAA's Home Page

CHERRY HILL, NJ--(Marketwire - October 1, 2009) - The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) received four communications awards, which included two APEX Awards and two National Health Information Awards for the following:

-- MSAA's Home Page (www.msassociation.org) received a Grand APEX Award in the category of Home Page Design for Web & Intranet Sites.

-- MSAA's educational video "A Closer Look at the Benefits of Exercise" won an APEX Award in the category of Education & Training - Electronic and Video Publications.

-- "MS Research Update 2008" featured in "The Motivator" (Summer 2008) received a Gold Award for Patient Education Information in the category of Magazine/Newspaper/Newsletter Article.

-- "Partners in Wellness - The Importance of a Positive Doctor-Patient Relationship" featured in "The Motivator" (Spring 2008) received a Merit Award for Health Promotion/Disease and Injury Prevention Information in the category of Magazine/Newspaper/Newsletter Article.

This is the third consecutive year MSAA has received an APEX Award and the second time MSAA has received a Grand APEX Award; the first was for MSAA's children's book, "Mommy's Story." This is also the fourth year in a row that MSAA has been recognized by the National Health Information Awards committee.

The APEX Awards recognize excellence in publications work by professional communicators. In this year's competition, almost 4,000 entries were evaluated and only 100 Awards of Excellence were given. The National Health Information Awards is coordinated by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials. In this year's awards program, a national panel of health information experts reviewed more than 1,000 entries from across the country.
