SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 1, 2012) - Murray Circle at Cavallo Point Lodge is pleased to announce its wine director, Gillian Ballance, has received the prestigious worldwide ranking of Master Sommelier and invites guests to come and broaden their palates with the tasting menu wine pairings showcasing Ballance's knowledge and the lodge's monthly Drink & Dine Local events.

The restaurant's tasting menu, designed by Executive Chef Justin Everett, allows guests to expand their culinary horizons through a series of seven courses, each distinctly paired by Ballance with a wine that complements the dish. Murray Circle provides a natural setting for guests to enjoy the meal, including vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, city skyline and marina; surrounding Marin headlands; stunning nightscapes; and verandas to dine or just relax outside. The wine cellar boasts one of California's deepest and most diverse collections, featuring more than 2,000 options.

Cavallo Point Lodge also offers monthly Drink & Dine Local events, encouraging guests to savor locally sourced, farm-fresh dishes and sample wines from local wineries, hand-selected by Ballance, or beer from local breweries.

Ballance is one of just 18 women in the U.S. to achieve the title of Master Sommelier and one of 197 professionals worldwide to receive the title.
