Mushroom Networks Unveils Streamer™ for Live High-Quality Webcasting Over Bonded Internet Connections

Portable Device Delivers High Resolution and Frame Rate Streaming From Anywhere Cellular Connections Are Available

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 15, 2011) - Mushroom Networks, Inc., innovators of Broadband Bonding™ technology, today announced Streamer, a portable device that bonds multiple broadband connections (fixed or wireless) into a single high-speed pipe optimized for transmitting live high-quality video and audio webcasts. Streamer works with numerous webcasting equipment including encoders, switchers, software encoders on laptops as a video source and any Content Delivery Networks (CDN) such as Ustream, Livestream,, Akamai, and Limelight among others.

Streamer delivers a cost effective solution for streaming live video to the web from anywhere cellular service is available. As an example: four wireless broadband connections can be bonded together to ensure enough bandwidth resources are available to stream real-time content with high-quality and superb reliability without any interruption. Streamer is a plug & play setup and will accept a video stream via an Ethernet cable connecting the Streamer to a video source (laptop, encoder, switcher) and send the stream to your choice of CDN or video server.

Webcasters have the ability to mix and match wireless services from any provider creating built-in redundancy to assure near 100 percent reliability even if some of the broadband links fail during the live stream. If a link does fail or is degraded, the effect is shielded from live broadcasts since Streamer transparently spreads traffic across the available links. When not in use for streaming live content, Streamer can also serve as a traditional Broadband Bonding device delivering extremely fast broadband service to access the Internet from the office, home or while on the road.

"Webcasting has been synonymous with poor picture quality and freeze frame characteristics largely due to a lack of available bandwidth resources. Streamer solves this issue by delivering an inexpensive way to obtain massive amounts of bandwidth enabling anyone with a laptop and webcam to stream professional grade video," said Dr. Cahit Akin, CEO of Mushroom Networks. "Because Streamer is extremely portable at just 1.3 pounds, it opens the doors to anyone needing to create and distribute live content while out and about such as broadcasters and bloggers covering special events, religious organizations reaching across the globe, or media conglomerates covering tradeshows from the floor."

Streamer comes standard with four USB ports, one RJ-45 Ethernet connector, support for most common video streaming protocols and video servers, built-in firewall, built-in QoS, and an option to add four wired WAN ports.

Streamer is now available. For more information and to inquire about pricing call 858-452-1031 or visit
