Music and Agriculture Are at the Heart of the Harvest Sun Music Fest

The Government of Canada announces funding for the 2014 festival


KELWOOD, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - June 2, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing financial support to the Harvest Sun Music & Art Society for the 2014 Harvest Sun Music Fest.

On behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, Robert Sopuck, Member of Parliament (Dauphin-Swan River-Marquette), today announced $13,900 in funding.

Quick Facts

-The 9th edition of the Harvest Sun Music Fest is taking place in the village of Kelwood, Manitoba, from August 15 to 17, 2014.

- This outdoor festival will feature musical performances by more than a dozen local and Canadian artists, as well as agricultural heritage presentations and demonstrations.

- The Harvest Sun Music & Art Society provides arts education, entertainment, and a celebration of culture to the community at large.

- The Government of Canada is providing this funding through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
