In the US, all participating artists, Warner Bros. Records and Apple have generously agreed to donate their respective proceeds of Download to Donate to support disaster relief.

In 2005, Linkin Park founded Music for Relief to bring aid to survivors of natural disasters and later began supporting environmental preservation programs to mitigate future disasters. Download to Donate was essential in raising funds for the Haiti earthquake in 2010, the Japan earthquake and tsunami in 2011. This third installment of Download to Donate is the first compilation to feature unsigned artists.
