Music Superstar Tim McGraw Stars in Rick Schroder's Feature Directorial Debut "Black Cloud," Available on DVD From New Line Home Entertainment on June 7, 2005

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 26, 2005 -- Rick Schroder makes his feature directorial debut with "Black Cloud," an inspirational drama that celebrates the triumph of the human spirit. Available on DVD from New Line Home Entertainment on June 7, 2005, "Black Cloud" stars Grammy Award-winning recording artist Tim McGraw ("Friday Night Lights"), Rick Schroder (TV's "NYPD Blue," "The Champ"), Eddie Spears, Russell Means, Julia Jones and Wayne Knight (TV's "Seinfeld") and will be marked at a $19.98 SRP.

The story of a young Navajo Native-American boxer who overcomes personal challenges as he embraces his heritage while fighting for a spot on the U.S. Olympic boxing team, "Black Cloud" comes to life against the breathtaking backdrop of the scenic Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly. Also playing an integral part in the film are the stunningly choreographed fight scenes overseen by Jimmy Gambina. Coincidentally, Gambina choreographed Jon Voight's boxing moves in Rick Schroder's star-making early film "The Champ."

Shot prior to the hit film "Friday Night Lights," "Black Cloud" marks country superstar Tim McGraw's first feature film role. The film, in addition, continues to be a labor of love for writer/director/star Rick Schroder. After writing the script, he secured financing for the production and shepherded the finished project into theaters for a limited theatrical run. Known widely for his roles in the hit film "The Champ" (opposite Jon Voight and Faye Dunaway) and on television's "Silver Spoons," "Lonesome Dove" and "NYPD Blue," Schroder has worked consistently as an actor since the mid-1970s.
