Member of Parliament Dick Harris announces funding for the Bella Coola Music Festival


BELLA COOLA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 20, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Discovery Coast Music Festival Society will present the 15th and 16th editions of the Bella Coola Music Festival thanks to an investment of $38,000 over two years ($19,000 in 2014-2015 and $19,000 in 2015-2016) through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund.

Dick Harris, Member of Parliament (Cariboo-Prince George), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

The Festival will feature performances in a variety of genres, including folk, world, pop and traditional First Nations music. The Bella Coola Music Festival will also feature youth rock and fiddle camps and workshops hosted by the Nuxalk Nation.
