Mutual of Omaha Announces America's Favorite Aha Moment

Real People Share Real Stories; America Votes

OMAHA, NE--(Marketwired - October 20, 2015) - Mutual of Omaha, proud sponsor of life’s aha moments℠, has announced the aha moment that will be featured in a national television commercial. The favorite aha moment is:

Apollo: Santa Cruz, Calif.
Hailing from Concord, Calif., Apollo shared his aha moment with the tour crew in Santa Cruz. From being a homeless teenager and rising up to be a successful author, music artist, and reality show star, Apollo is now passionate about helping young people get through difficult situations by facilitating social and emotional learning workshops all over the country.

Voters from across the country, in combination with a Mutual of Omaha panel, have selected the favorite aha moment through an online public vote at www.facebook.com/myahamoment. Since Oct. 5, finalists gained votes for their moment by relying heavily on social media and community support, with local media sharing their impactful stories along the way.

“It’s always encouraging to see how America responds to these amazing stories and rallies around their hometown heroes. We couldn’t be more thrilled to share Apollo’s story,” said Andrew Rouillard, Vice President of Brand Management and Advertising at Mutual of Omaha.

It all started with the 2015 Aha Moment Tour, which began on May 4 in Irvine, Calif., and journeyed to 20 cities across the country before wrapping in Santa Cruz, Calif., on Aug. 7. At every stop, people lined up to share their personal aha moments in a 34’ Airstream trailer custom designed as a mobile television studio. Nearly 1,000 aha moments were recorded this year along the Tour. All of the interviews can be viewed at www.mutualofomaha.com/aha.

Mutual of Omaha launched its sponsorship of life’s aha moments in February 2009 and has captured almost 6,000 moments from people in cities all across the United States.
