Muze Launches MuzeMusic® 2.0

Only Independent Metadata Provider Redefines the Standard for Media Information

NEW YORK, NY and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - May 5, 2008) - Muze Inc., the leading provider of media information products and streaming media services that enable search, discovery, and commerce in entertainment products and services, announced today at the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) annual convention, the launch of MuzeMusic® 2.0, the next generation of its market-leading music information database. MuzeMusic® 2.0 is a comprehensive music database that contains normalized commercial metadata, expert editorial content, artist images, and music samples that enable companies to increase their sales of entertainment products -- such as tracks and albums -- and to attract and retain subscribers to Internet, mobile, and social networking sites.

"Muze media information products are recognized as the de-facto standard for both breadth of coverage and quality of editorial," says Muze Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Janice P. Anderson. "We ensure accurate and timely coverage of both the current and historical entertainment media that consumers are looking for. Leading retailers, Internet destinations, social networks, and mobile service providers rely on MuzeMusic for its comprehensive catalog of music releases, extensibility, flexible delivery options, and accessibility across a wide variety of consumer devices. This helps to accelerate their time-to-market and improve business results."

MuzeMusic® 2.0 integrates the entire suite of Muze music databases -- including MuzeMusic®, Muze Essential Artists®, and the Muze Encyclopedia of Popular Music® -- into a single, linked flexible data structure, creating the industry's most comprehensive repository of rich descriptive data, editorial content, and relational links, spanning more than 50 years worth of popular and classical music releases. MuzeMusic® 2.0 offers one-stop shopping for music media information, with greater breadth and depth of content, millions of new data elements that support artist and album profiles, and a unified data structure that enables intelligent relational linking across media types. Flexible delivery options include ASCII and web services-ready XML feeds, for rapid deployment and seamless integration with a client's existing infrastructure. MuzeMusic 2.0 is available in four unique data modules, allowing companies to use data that is most relevant for their business:

-- MuzeMusic® Elements - provides the core identifying data and front
cover art associated with an album release.

-- MuzeMusic® Extended - includes rich, descriptive original editorial
content, comprehensive biographies, reviews, and classifications.

-- MuzeMusic® Extended Tracks - includes essential commercial data for
individual songs, which can be augmented with optional International
Standard Recording Codes (ISRCs), publishing and copyright information, as
well as expert editorial descriptions, reviews genres, and classifications.

-- MuzeMusic® Illustrated - provides enhanced images for artists, back
cover art, and streaming 30-second music samples.

Muze clients are excited about the newly-enhanced MuzeMusic offering. MusicToGo Media provides an interactive music discovery platform that delivers an artist information mash-up, synced to a live stream or broadcast. It provides consumers with an interactive rich media presentation of all the information a consumer could possibly want about any band or recording artist. What's unique about MusicToGo is its ability to display artist information in real time, whenever a terrestrial or online radio station plays a song by the artist. For every song that is streamed or broadcast, the consumer is automatically provided with a virtual wall of high-value information about that artist.

Says Jeffrey Specter, president and CEO of MusicToGo Media, "Making sure that we have access to the right information about both back catalog and new releases is critical to us, to our customers, and to their audience." He adds, "What drew MusicToGo to Muze was that fact that not only does Muze have a comprehensive back catalog, but they consistently deliver new release information in advance of street dates, so our customers and their audiences always have access to their favorite music and artists, whether it's a new release, or even a long-forgotten tune with which they are being reconnected. Muze powers MusicToGo's ability to drive the brand awareness of the artist and/or band, and that translates into satisfied customers for us and positive business results for our company."
