MWC Shanghai Attendees Get First Look at IoT Platform From Jasper & China Unicom

SANTA CLARA, CA and SHANGHAI, CHINA--(Marketwired - Jul 15, 2015) - Attendees at Mobile World Congress Shanghai (July 15-17, 2015) will be the first to be introduced to China Unicom Control Center, the global Internet of Things (IoT) platform from Jasper. It was at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona in February that the two companies first announced their partnership, which made China Unicom the first operator in China to offer their customers a platform through which companies in any industry can quickly and easily deploy, manage and monetize IoT services globally.

According to recent research by the GSMA1, China is now the world's largest machine-to-machine (M2M) market with 50 million devices connected. Among the leaders in IoT adoption, throughout China and across the globe, is the automotive industry. IoT and the Connected Car will be the centerpiece of a special exhibit within Innovation City at MWC Shanghai, at which representatives from China Unicom and Jasper will be on hand to discuss how Control Center enables enhanced experiences for customers and new business models for automotive manufacturers. The stand will also feature a Tesla Model S so visitors can experience a Connected Car for themselves.

Beyond the Connected Car, attendees will also experience first-hand how Jasper and China Unicom enable the transformation from product businesses to services business for all industries through:

  • IoT Service Automation -- Control Center intelligently adapts to the unique business needs of any enterprise, with set-and forget automation that delivers near zero-touch IoT services management. This makes it easy to rapidly deploy new services, optimize performance in real-time, lower the overall operations costs and deliver unparalleled customer experiences.
  • Real-Time Intelligence -- Control Center gives enterprises the visibility and control they need to quickly respond to customer needs, improve operational efficiencies and lower costs. Its real-time Intelligence engine continuously monitors device, network and usage conditions, analyzes historical data, and automatically identifies and responds to problems to quickly restore device performance.
  • Global Scalability -- Control Center provides enterprises with a highly scalable IoT platform that enables the delivery of services globally. Jasper partners with 25 mobile operator groups that represent over 100 mobile operator networks worldwide, enabling businesses to quickly and easily scale to meet business demand. This enables companies in China to scale their IoT services to other countries, while also enabling companies outside of China to expand their IoT services into the country.

"We're excited to enable MWC visitors to actually experience IoT for themselves," said Cindy Patterson, Chief Customer Officer at Jasper. "We're enabling businesses in any industry to deliver IoT services that increase value for their customers while growing revenues. And together with China Unicom, we look forward to showing MWC attendees, and enterprises across China, how IoT can transform their businesses."
