BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - January 11, 2011) - My Chemical Romance has announced the support bands for the North American portion of its upcoming 2011 "World Contamination" Tour in support of its new album Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys.

The Architects, from Kansas City, MO, and Neon Trees, from Provo, UT, will join MCR on the road for the first leg of the tour, which runs from March 31st (in Oakland) to the April 23rd show in New York City. The Architects and Thursday, from New Brunswick, NJ, will appear on the first part of the second leg, which runs from May 5th (in Boston) to the May 11th show in Atlanta. The Architects and Philadelphia's Circa Survive will join MCR for the second part of the second leg, which runs from May 17th (in West Palm Beach, FL) through the May 29th show in Las Vegas. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.

The New York Times recently raved about My Chemical Romance's December show at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City, calling it "a terrific, thrusting show that felt bigger than even this big room."

Released by Reprise Records on November 22nd, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys claimed the No. 1 spot on Soundscan's Rock and Alternative Album Charts, and debuted at No. 8 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart, selling 112,460 units in its first week of release.

The success of Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys has been driven by fan anticipation for My Chemical Romance's first new album since 2006's platinum-selling The Black Parade. USA Today called Danger Days "a polychromatic explosion of rabid riffology," noting that "My Chemical Romance is now hooked on sonics: loud, raw, aggressive, and seething," while Alternative Press raved that the album boasts "some of the strongest and catchiest songs of the band's career." Rolling Stone called Danger Days "a love letter to all the juvie-hall grads and Ritalin rats still waiting for someone to build a bomb big enough to blow all the pop bands off the airwaves."
