My-Villages Launches Online Digital Collaborative to Improve Product Ownership and Service Experience

First Digital Community on My-Villages, My Boat Village, Connects Boat Lovers With Valuable Resources and Expert Advice

LOUISVILLE, KY--(Marketwire - Oct 2, 2012) - IBEX Show -- How often have you become frustrated while trying to coordinate a service call or when seeking answers to questions on a product you own? My-Villages (MV) www.my-villages.com, a new online digital collaborative, launched today to connect consumers, technicians and product manufacturers in online communities -- or villages -- specific to the things they own, build and service. My-Villages' goal, through its powerful online network and via its Web sites and mobile tools, is to improve the overall ownership experience.

The first village on My-Villages will be My Boat Village (debuting 10/25 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show). Geared toward boat owners and marine industry professionals, My Boat Village will offer the industry a free, online community and a single destination to search for answers and share ideas and expertise.

With My Boat Village, boat owners no longer have to bounce from Web site to Web site or thumb through paper manuals in order to gather various pieces of necessary information to service and maintain their boats. And for manufacturers and service providers, My Boat Village provides a platform to engage and inform customers in real time, provide expert advice and facilitate deeper relationships, while giving manufacturers and service providers valuable insight about their customers' needs. By streamlining the experience, My Boat Village connects boat owners to the manufacturers that build their boats; the service providers that support them; the people who share their passion; and the information that allows them to better operate, maintain and enjoy their boats.

Gone are the days when customer engagement meant attending a few conferences, mailing flyers and sending some mass email communications. Today's customers are both social media and smartphone savvy. They expect to be able to use Web and mobile tools to educate themselves about the products and services that interest them. And they have lots and lots of questions. My Boat Village will provide a reliable place to find answers to those questions.

"With My-Villages, we are creating online communities to improve the way today's consumers access the needed information and communicate with the people they rely on most to help them manage, operate and enjoy the things they own," said My-Villages Founder and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Hutchinson. "As an avid boater myself, I have experienced firsthand the need to alleviate frustrations and transform the way we connect and share valuable information. My Boat Village will provide boaters with a single online destination to find information and get answers, and for marine industry professionals the opportunity to directly service customers with an arsenal of 21st-century tools."

My Boat Village is an industry collaborative comprising boat owners, builders, equipment manufacturers, service techs, yards, authors, dealers, brokers, marina managers, industry experts and others who love boats, all of whom want to benefit from each other's knowledge and experience. Members of the industry are acknowledged as experts and welcomed for their expert advice, tips, vital documentation and recommendations, all made available through a powerful technology network.

My-Villages and its approach to unique online communities was conceived and built by a team of people located across the country who have worked for years to create transformative technologies, improving communication and coordination in industries such as publishing, education and health care.

At IBEX, the International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference, October 2-4, Booth #1039, My-Villages will sign up companies to be part of the My Boat Village launch and invitation-only beta period (three months). My-Villages will debut My Boat Village at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 25.

My-Villages will release a companion mobile app and service to boaters and businesses later this year that will dramatically enhance the community's utility.

"We have a great lineup of upcoming announcements with respect to strategic partnerships and industry alliances. Stay tuned, there is much more to come."
