The Effect of Fortetropin(TM) on Anabolic and Catabolic Signaling in Skeletal Muscle


CEDAR KNOLLS, NJ--(Marketwired - Feb 23, 2015) - MYOS Corporation ("MYOS" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: MYOS), an emerging biotherapeutics and bionutrition company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of products that improve human muscle health and performance, announced today that the Company's abstract, "The Effects of Fertilized Egg Yolk Isolates on Anabolic and Catabolic Signaling in Skeletal Muscle," was accepted for poster presentation at the Experimental Biology Conference focused on cross-disciplined research, being held March 28-April 1, 2015 in Boston, MA.

The presentation will highlight three key molecular signaling pathways in which Fortetropin™ is active. In addition to reducing serum myostatin levels, Fortetropin™ affects the mTOR and Ubiquitin signaling pathways to assist in the growth and maintenance of healthy muscle. These pathways regulate both protein synthesis and muscle growth, in addition to preventing muscle degradation. The study was conducted at the Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance at The University of Tampa by Jacob Wilson, Ph.D., CSCS*D, Assistant Professor and Director of the Skeletal Muscle and Sports Nutrition Laboratory.
