N-able Technologies Appoints Enterprise Software Industry Veteran Alan Rottenberg as Chairman of the Board

Industry Pioneer to Accelerate Growth, Drive More Innovation and Extend Leadership in 2011

OTTAWA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2011) - N-able Technologies®, the global leader in remote network and systems management (NSM) software for managed service providers (MSPs) and IT departments, today announced that Alan Rottenberg, an enterprise software industry veteran, has been appointed chairman of the board of directors.

Rottenberg is recognized throughout the technology sector, and particularly in Canada, for helping companies grow revenues significantly. From 1989 to 2002, he held a number of senior management roles at Cognos, now an IBM company, including senior vice president of marketing and business strategies, senior vice president of business intelligence, and senior vice president of applications. During his tenure, Cognos became a worldwide leader in business intelligence, achieving significant revenue growth.

Since leaving Cognos in 2002, Rottenberg has served as a strategic advisor, board member and investor to a wide range of technology firms. According to N-able CEO Gavin Garbutt, the company will draw upon Rottenberg's decades of experience as it looks to build upon its success in 2010 -- a year in which it achieved a 70 percent increase in deployment of its N-central® NSM platform across the global marketplace.

"We've reached an important milestone in our company history, with more growth and success in 2010 than we ever thought possible," says Garbutt. "We are thrilled by the opportunity to draw on the counsel of such an experienced executive who understands what it takes to reach the pinnacle of the software industry -- someone who can help us manage our growth while continuing to exceed our customers' and partners' expectations. That executive is Alan, and we are extremely delighted to have him join our board and help guide N-able through its next phase of growth."

Rottenberg replaces Rob Rose, who is director, office of strategy, for IBM's Business Intelligence & Performance Management Segment. "Rob has made significant contributions to N-able as chairman of the board over the last five years, and we have been fortunate to have him at the helm. We wish him continued success at IBM and thank him sincerely for his service to N-able and our partners," said Garbutt.

The N-able Technologies Board of Directors plays an active role in determining the company's growth and direction. The board meets quarterly to review the operation and overall strategic business plan of the company, as well as deal with various areas of corporate governance.
