The NAC Offers Smart Launch Quality Testing Program to Appcessory Innovators and Start-Ups

WEST PALM BEACH, FL--(Marketwired - April 14, 2015) - The NAC, a leading edge Bluetooth® interoperability and usability test lab, today announced the availability of Smart Launch, a quality testing program designed to support start-up companies with developing the next generation of appcessories including smart accessories, applications, wearables and home automation products.

Appcessory developers are faced with the challenge of ensuring a quality user experience across an ever-expanding range of mobile devices. Different mobile operating systems, diverse screen sizes and altered protocol stacks are just a few of the variables that can disrupt a successful product launch. The NAC has a complete mobile phone library which includes 100% of the commercially available mobile devices in the United States. The Smart Launch program provides developers with a private test suite and access to hundreds of mobile devices for their testing. Most importantly, Smart Launch is available at no charge for qualifying start-up companies.

"The NAC wants to help remove the roadblocks to a successful product launch," stated Joe Murphy, NAC VP of Business Development. "We have seen catastrophic product flops within the crowdfunding world -- many could have been easily avoided. Consider wearables, for example, that could not even successfully pair and connect to a mobile phone. The fact is, early adopters are not a forgiving group and start-ups only get one chance to get it right. Clearly, there is a need for better access to devices and test tools."

The NAC believes that much of the Internet of Things innovation will be driven by small start-up companies. However, most of these companies will not have the resources to access large groups of mobile devices in the market place. Enabling start-ups to access the NAC device library at no charge will ensure that customer-affecting compatibility issues are identified and solved prior to product launch. In addition to mobile device library access, the start-up companies also receive guidance on interoperability test techniques and tools. To learn more about the Smart Launch program, email us:
