NAFCU Services Corporation and BioPassword Offer a Free Webcast on Multi-Factor Authentication and Security

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 25, 2007 -- BioPassword, Inc., a NAFCU Services Preferred Partner, today announced the availability of a free NAFCU Services webcast providing an overview of multi-factor authentication and internal IT security requirements for credit unions.

To view the free webcast, visit www.nafcu.org/biopasswordwebcast. To learn more about NAFCU's 2007 Security Conference: Security in a Connected World (Feb. 13 -16, 2007), go to www.nafcu.org/SC07.

The webcast discusses the pros and cons of various biometric and other multi-factor authentication approaches, including a detailed discussion of BioPassword's keystroke-based technology.

"Given the universe of possibilities offered in the marketplace, choosing the right multi-factor authentication technology can be a daunting task," said Jared Pfost, BioPassword's vice president of security and product strategy. "A number of solutions involve tokens and other hardware-based technologies, but the cost and challenge of distributing and managing the hardware has often proved impractical."

Adds NAFCU Services President David Frankil, "An effective multi-factor authentication system is reliable, fast, accurate, transparent, scalable to millions of users and immediately deployable across the organization and the Internet without the need for expensive tokens, cards or other specialized hardware. Specialized hardware and software can triple IT budget and tech support costs."

This webcast will help credit unions understand the trade-offs between various technologies, assessing the total cost (implementation, maintenance, tech support and others), as well as ways to apply multi-factor authentication.

BioPassword will also lead a special session on multi-factor authentication at the upcoming NAFCU Security Conference in New Orleans next month.
