NaiKun Welcomes New Director of Public Affairs and Communications Sara MacIntyre To Raise the Profile of Offshore Wind in British Columbia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 3, 2007) - NaiKun Wind Development Inc. ("NaiKun" or "the company") (TSX VENTURE:NKW) is pleased to announce that Sara MacIntyre has been appointed as Director, Public Affairs and Communications for the company, effective immediately.

Before joining NaiKun, Sara was Provincial Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF). In her three years with the CTF she increased the profile of the organization and distinguished herself as a key media spokesperson on many taxpayer-related issues.

Ms. MacIntyre will be responsible for enhancing the company's presence in the BC and Canadian markets, as well as managing NaiKun's strategic communications and public affairs programs. A key area of focus will be to educate the public, government and media about the outstanding potential for offshore wind energy in BC as a significant share of the province's future demand for clear, green, renewable power.

NaiKun is a proponent of one of the world's largest offshore wind farms, a five-phase, 1,750 MW renewable energy project. Currently, the first phase of the project, a 320 MW offshore development off the east coast of Haida Gwaii in the Hecate Strait, is being developed for a bid in the next BC Hydro Call for Power.

"We are very pleased that Ms. MacIntyre has agreed to join the NaiKun team," said NaiKun President and CEO, Ray Castelli. "Sara has an excellent reputation and significant profile in this province as someone who can move issues forward. Her proven track record for getting results will bring an effective presence to our company."

In addition to her experience in Victoria, Sara also has considerable experience with federal policy issues. In Ottawa, she worked as a policy researcher in the Opposition Leader's Office, responsible for several files including Human Resources Development Canada and Indian Affairs Canada.

Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a MA candidate at the University of Calgary.

NaiKun Wind Development Inc. has been engaged in wind energy development in the Haida Energy Field off the coast of British Columbia since 2001. When fully operational, its five-phase 1,750 MW NaiKun Wind Farm will generate enough electricity to power 600,000 homes. Construction of Phase I is expected to begin in 2009. NaiKun Wind Development Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of NaiKun Wind Energy Group Inc. (NKW). Interested parties are invited to visit the company's website at
