Napera Networks Hires Seasoned VP of Marketing to Lead Global Initiatives

Stellar Communications Executive Margaret Dawson Joins the Napera Networks™ Team to Drive Brand Strategy and Marketing

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - July 7, 2008) - Seattle start-up Napera Networks ( today announced the appointment of Margaret Dawson as vice president of marketing. Dawson brings over 20 years of strategic communications experience in global markets and proven expertise in network security to the company. As VP of marketing for Napera, Dawson will spearhead the company's go-to-market plan and overall marketing initiatives for the network security company, which announced its first product at the 2008 RSA Conference in San Francisco.

The Napera solution is the market's first network access control product and Web service designed specifically for the small and medium-sized enterprise, ensuring only healthy laptops access the corporate network and giving IT staff real-time visibility and control of mobile laptops and users.

"Margaret has an impressive track record in technology marketing with leading brands and start-up organizations. Before joining Napera, Dawson led a product management team for two network security products at Microsoft Corporation, where she managed all aspects of the business, including product planning, pricing and licensing, marketing communications and budgeting. Prior to Microsoft, she held senior level international communication roles at, Aventail Corporation, and The Weber Group/McCann Erickson. She founded and served as managing director of The Weber Group Taiwan based in Taipei, a branch office of the worldwide public relations agency. While based in the Greater China region, Margaret spent several years as a foreign correspondent for BusinessWeek Magazine, reporting on key technology, business, political and economic news.

In addition to numerous career highlights, Dawson has worked with many non profits and educational organizations, including serving as a marketing advisor to the Bellevue Schools Foundation and Cornish College of the Arts. She received a bachelor of arts in Communication from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma and completed general studies coursework at the University of London.
