National Association of Career Colleges Applauds Government Changes to the Canada Students Loan Programs

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) - The National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) applauds the government's efforts to introduce encouraging initiatives for the Canada Student Loan Programs. The government took a very positive step when it announced, in the Budget, changes to the Canada Student Loan Program.

The government's proposals will allow more students to access post-secondary education training programs.

"These changes will help single parents to obtain the training needed to get more meaningful jobs, post-secondary students to get the education they need to have their first job and people who recently lost their jobs to get retrained to reach new opportunities," said Dr. Michael McAllister, NACC's president.

NACC welcomes the government's position and we call on the opposition parties to pass the Budget in order to support Canadians who deserve meaningful employment and who would benefit from these measures.
