National Bank Again One of the 50 Best Employers in Canada

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 29, 2006) - For the third year running, National Bank (TSX:NA) is proud to have made the prestigious list of the "50 Best Employers in Canada." The Bank is one of only three companies in the top 50 to have more than 10,000 employees.

"This honour confirms once again that National Bank offers an engaging work environment where employees are motivated to perform to their full potential," explained Real Raymond, President and Chief Executive Officer. This recognition is a testament to the Bank's efforts in recent years to build a dynamic and innovative organization with a focus on individual development.

This ranking recognizes companies with innovative and engaging human resources practices. The list was compiled based on a survey of employees, business leaders and human resources professionals from the participating organizations. The "50 Best Employers in Canada" survey is conducted annually by Hewitt Associates in partnership with The Globe and Mail's Report on Business magazine and the French-language daily La Presse.
