National Bank of Arizona, Freeport-McMoRan and The Phoenix Philanthropy Group to Unite More Than 200 of Arizona's Top Philanthropic Leaders in First Statewide Nonprofit Event of Its Kind

Sept. 27 Event Will Identify Best New Practices to Advance Impact of State Nonprofits

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - Sep 14, 2011) - National Bank of Arizona (NB|AZ) will host one of Arizona's most pivotal statewide nonprofit events on Sept. 27 with the Nonprofit Leadership Forum.

Spearheaded by NB|AZ and co-funded by Freeport-McMoRan as part of a new long-term strategy to help shape the future of the Arizona social sector, the event is the first of its kind to unite more than 200 key decision-makers and leading influencers working with the state's nonprofit community. The National Bank of Arizona and Freeport-McMoRan Nonprofit Leadership Forum, hosted in partnership with The Phoenix Philanthropy Group, will serve as the inaugural event for the new annual forum and will feature guest speaker appearances from two of the most nationally recognized figures in the nonprofit community. Speakers will include Dan Pallotta, author of Uncharitable and pioneer of the AIDSRides and Breast Cancer 3-Days, Jeff Edmondson, a national thought leader in collective impact strategy, as well as a distinguished panel of Arizona's most respected and thought-provoking leaders who will be a featured part of the day's discussions.

The invitation-only Nonprofit Leadership Forum will differ from the many nonprofit events that take place throughout the community each year in that the forum is part of an ongoing, statewide initiative. During the event, key leadership from across the state will engage in a collective process to address the state's most pressing social issues. Participants will be asked to lend their ideas, opinions, and experience through an online survey prior to the forum, providing critical data that will serve as the foundation for dialogue at the event. Guests will also hear from speakers Pallotta and Edmondson and engage in highly personalized, facilitated discussion as real-time data is collected and presented on-screen.

As part of the event's larger statewide initiative, additional facilitated online planning sessions will follow the forum and will build on the day's discussions. Deliverables from the event will include a forum white paper detailing collective efforts and promoting actionable next steps that will be published to serve as an initial roadmap for further dialogue and engagement. Follow-up events and the white paper developed through the Nonprofit Leadership Forum activities will be accessible to the general public in an effort to make the dialogue and best practices identified during the event available for the benefit of all.

"The Nonprofit Leadership Forum is dedicated to creating a framework for measurable and sustainable social change in Arizona," said Jathan Segur, senior vice president of marketing for NB|AZ. "By aligning Arizona's leading nonprofit executives, philanthropists, and opinion-makers, we can begin an ongoing dialogue that will shape the future of our great state for generations to come."

Recognizing the vital need for these discussions to take place, NB|AZ has committed to hosting the annual event through 2014. This year's event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the studios of Eight Arizona PBS on ASU's Downtown Phoenix Campus. The event will be open to the media and will include a media Q&A with key executives and presenters immediately following the day's discussions.
