National Bank Supports Fondation OLO

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 3, 2005) - National Bank is proud
to donate $15,000 to Fondation OLO, an organization dedicated to helping
expectant mothers who are in need. This contribution is in lieu of the
amount normally spent to host a luncheon following the Bank's Annual
Meeting of Shareholders.

basic nutrition as well as the psychosocial and nursing counselling
needed to give 60 babies a healthy start in life.

In Quebec, one pregnant woman in five lives below the poverty line. For
the thousands of women in this position, malnutrition poses a real
threat to the health of their unborn children. The Bank is proud to
support Fondation OLO which, through its activities, ensures that these
women receive the nutritional basics - eggs, milk and orange juice - and
the vitamin supplements required during pregnancy to bring healthy
babies to term.

Every year, the Bank gives close to $10 million in donations or
sponsorships to many health, education, community assistance and
cultural organizations.
