National Bioskills Laboratories Successfully Implements Google Glass and CrowdOptic to Provide a "Virtual Clinical Training Platform" for Physicians and Medical Device Companies

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and DALLAS, TX --(Marketwired - April 15, 2016) - National Bioskills Laboratories (NBL), the first Medical Cadaveric Training Center to utilize CrowdOptic-powered Google Glass to expand its global reach, launched a new clinical training platform in April 2016 to allow its medical training courses to expand globally through 'virtual' training, while helping medical device clients significantly reduce costs associated with the training of clinical personnel worldwide.

Physician proctors, wearing Google Glass with CrowdOptic software, were able to live-stream HIPAA-compliant, interactive video feeds from NBL in Dallas, Texas to viewers throughout the U.S. This initiative is one of the first of many to come in the industry and is anticipated to be the next standard of care in professional clinical education.

"As a medical educator, I am always looking for innovative means to better educate my fellow physicians. Utilizing CrowdOptic's cutting edge technology, along with Google Glass, has provided a new educational platform for my students by allowing them to observe and experience my every move during surgical procedures and educational forums alike. I am certain their technology will become the new standard for professional education in the near future," commented Dr. Kasra Amirdelfan, one of the physicians wearing Google Glass to live-stream the training event from NBL in Dallas.

This technology has the potential to greatly increase exposure to leading clinical training experts around the world for assistance in new product launches and clinical training efforts. There is a strong push to help reduce overall training costs within medical corporations today and CrowdOptic's technology will be instrumental in helping companies achieve those goals.

"We are helping to remove geographical barriers to professional clinical education and establish new protocols that will significantly enhance patient care through greater access to medical training experts around the world," added Keri Hawkins, VP of Sales & Marketing for CrowdOptic.
