National Business Group on Health Elects Three Board Members

Senior HR Executives From Unilever, IBM and Carlson Join Elite Board

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - Aug 23, 2012) -  The National Business Group on Health, a non-profit association of 342 mostly large U.S. employers, today announced that it has elected three human resources executives from major corporations to its elite board of directors. The new directors are Barbara Brickmeier, Shawn Leavitt, and Pascale Thomas,

Barbara Brickmeier is Vice President, HR, for IBM Corporation. In her role, Ms. Brickmeier oversees global benefits design including retirement, health and welfare for IBM's employees and retirees. She also has overall responsibility for IBM's HR business development and HR delivery, and is the HR leader for corporate functions. Ms. Brickmeier has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Long Island University and an MBA, with a concentration in Human Resource Management, from Adelphi University. 

Shawn Leavitt is Vice President of Global Compensation and Benefits at Carlson, where he is responsible for establishing and executing Carlson's total rewards strategy in support of 170,000 worldwide employees who are dedicated to creating the leading hospitality and travel brands. Over his nearly 20-year career, Mr. Leavitt has developed a reputation in the industry for implementing creative, comprehensive compensation and benefit strategies, managing rewards in complex global settings and developing effective employee wellness campaigns. 

Pascale Thomas is the Director - Rewards, North America at Unilever, one of the world's largest consumer products multinationals with more than 170,000 employees worldwide. In her current role, Ms. Thomas is responsible for driving the vision, deployment and evaluation of compensation, retirement and benefit programs in North America. Throughout her 20-year career she has been publically recognized for her innovative approach to benefits design in the US and globally, and specially for developing award-winning health and wellness programs. Ms. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science, and postgraduate credentials in Project Management and Risk and Insurance.
