National Defence-Media Advisory: Her Majesty's Canadian Ship (HMCS) Toronto Schedule Change

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - July 8, 2005) - The open ship of Her Majesty's Canadian Ship (HMCS) TORONTO that was originally scheduled for Saturday, 9 July 2005 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. has been cancelled due to the late arrival of the ship caused by unexpected congestion in the St. Lawrence Seaway.

The ship will be open for visitors on July 10th & 11th from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. and on July 12th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The ship will be berthed at Pier 283/291 Queen Elizabeth Docks, 255 Queen's Quay East, at the foot of Sherbourne Street. People visiting the ship are asked to bring photo ID and please leave personal kit bags ashore.

The ship, under the command of Commander Stuart Moors, will be stopping at several other cities after Toronto. The open ship offers a unique opportunity to visit one of Canada's premier warships as part of HMCS TORONTO's Great Lakes Deployment.
