National High School Coaches Association High School National Wrestling Championships to Be Aired on and ESPNU

EASTON, PA--(Marketwire - March 22, 2010) -  The National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) has reached an agreement with ESPN to provide the wrestling community with the finals of the NHSCA Senior National Wrestling Championships.

For the second consecutive year, the NHSCA National Wrestling Championships presented by U.S. Navy will air live on on Sunday, March 28 beginning at 5pm ET. It will also be shown on tape delay on ESPNU (times for ESPNU broadcast TBD).

"We're pleased to bring back the NHSCA Senior National Wrestling Championships live exclusively on," said Damon Phillips, vice president, "Our mission is to serve sports fans, and we are proud to offer this great event to this passionate audience."

The NHSCA National Wrestling Championships will feature wrestlers from 47 states and 2 European countries. A combined total of more than 855 state titles, including (14) four time state champions, (53) three time state champions, and (145) two time state champions will wrestle for a chance to be a 2010 NHSCA National Champion. 

"This is the second year that our senior national championships will be aired on and ESPNU," said Bob Ferraro, Executive Director of the NHSCA. "High school wrestling is one of the most exciting high school sports and when all these state champs come together to wrestle for a national championship, the intensity is tremendous. We are thrilled that and ESPNU will be there to capture this excitement." 

The agreement between the two companies was negotiated by Jim Jennings, of Waterbucket Media.
