National PTA and TeenSafe Team Up to Offer Discounts and Financial Support to PTA Members and Schools

ALEXANDRIA, VA--(Marketwired - February 03, 2015) - National PTA® is pleased to announce that TeenSafe has become the association's newest Member Benefit Provider. TeenSafe is the creator of iPhone, Android and tablet monitoring software for parents. Through this relationship, PTA members can receive discounts on TeenSafe's subscription services and local PTAs nationwide can receive financial support.

"Research shows that between 2011 and 2013, usage of tablet devices among children 5 to 15 years old increased from 7% to 51%. Research also demonstrates that social media and Internet usage by young children increases every year," said Otha Thornton, president of National PTA. "With the proliferation of the use of technology among children and teens, parents have expressed concerns about the risks they see, especially with social media. National PTA is pleased to team up with TeenSafe to empower parents with tools to help keep their children safe when using the Internet, social media and mobile devices."

TeenSafe's monitoring software enables parents to view their children's activity on Facebook, Instagram, Kik Messenger, WhatsApp and other popular social media platforms; incoming, outgoing and deleted text messages; web browsing history; contacts; call logs and location. Since the company's inception in 2011, more than 700,000 parents have subscribed to TeenSafe's web-based service, which provides them secure access to their children's social interactions via an online account.

As a Member Benefit Provider of National PTA, TeenSafe will:

  • Offer all PTA members a seven-day free trial as well as a 33% lifetime discount on its software through www.teensafe.com/PTA, and
  • Contribute $10 to each new subscriber's selected local PTA.

"We are thrilled to be joining forces with National PTA. TeenSafe believes wholeheartedly that parents, local PTA leaders and National PTA as a whole will be aided and supported in the desire to protect our children in this digital age," said Ameeta Jain, co-founder of TeenSafe. "With the common passion for protecting our most valuable treasures, we know that officially coming alongside the PTA will truly enhance our reach to parents around the country in our efforts to keep children safe through monitoring their use of personal cell phones and tablets."
