After a long winter of colds, flu, sniffles and other ailments, Canadians will have the opportunity to learn more about optimizing their health during Naturopathic Medicine Week: May 9-15, 2011. Throughout the week, naturopathic doctors across Canada will be conducting public events - free of charge - at local bookstores, community venues and their own clinics. The Canadian Naturopathic Foundation (CNF) is a registered charitable organization (B/N118834712RR0001) that supports research and public education for the advancement of naturopathic medicine in Canada. This is accomplished by providing information and guidance to Canadians on general health and wellness and the benefits naturopathic medicine offers in the treatment of specific diseases, disorders and illnesses. CNF also funds research related to naturopathic medicine and provides scholarships to students studying naturopathic medicine.

The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) is a non-profit professional association that has been the national voice of the Canadian naturopathic profession since 1955. The CAND membership consists of over 1,900 Canadian naturopathic doctors and naturopathic medical students. All are graduates of or students in an accredited four-year, post-graduate level, naturopathic medical program.
