NaviNet Names Frank Ingari Chief Executive Officer

New CEO to Lead America's Largest Healthcare Network and Equip the Value-Based Care Delivery Transformation

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Aug 8, 2012) - NaviNet, Inc. announced today that it has appointed Frank Ingari Chief Executive Officer. Ingari succeeds Bradley J. Waugh, under whose leadership NaviNet built the nation's largest real-time communication network for physicians, hospitals, and health insurers, connecting nearly 70 percent of clinician offices and hospital facilities in the United States.

"I am honored to lead NaviNet. As the largest healthcare network in the United States, NaviNet is positioned uniquely to power the coordination essential to value-based care," said Ingari. "NaviNet's multi-payer portal offers the only widely accepted platform to enable health plans, clinician offices, and hospital systems to communicate securely and effectively with administrative, care coordination, and clinical professionals."

Ingari brings more than 30 years of executive experience to NaviNet. Most recently, he was Chief Executive Officer of Essence Healthcare Inc. (EHI), one of the highest-rated Medicare Advantage plans in the United States. Under Ingari's leadership, EHI pioneered an innovative accountable care solution with its sister company Lumeris Corporation to deliver world-class population management tools, clinical informatics, and information delivery systems to its members and contracted physicians. Lumeris, based in St. Louis, is recognized as an industry leader in software and services for health plans, hospitals, and physicians that practice accountable care. EHI is a heavy user of Lumeris' clinical informatics and information delivery systems, known as the Accountable Delivery System Platform (ADSP). Ingari will continue to serve as a Director on the Board of Essence Group Holdings (EGHC), the parent company of EHI and Lumeris.

"We got to know Frank during the recent recapitalization of NaviNet," said NaviNet Chairman Steven Udvarhelyi, MD, Executive Vice President of Independence Blue Cross. "He's been a successful innovator as a technology chief executive officer and as a health system chief executive officer, so he not only knows how to develop successful technology solutions, but how to apply them as well. That is an unusual and valuable combination of skills."

Ingari grew EHI from $70 million to more than $400 million in revenues while improving the company's government-issued Star rating from 3.5 to 4.5 (out of a possible 5). The Star rating holds insurers accountable not only for administrative efficiency, but also for the quality of care delivered and the satisfaction of consumers served.

"The Lumeris-NaviNet relationship is a true strategic alliance," said Mike Long, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EGHC. "The companies were introduced by common customers who saw the promise of integration between Lumeris solutions and the NaviNet platform. Frank's on-the-ground experience building a real accountable delivery system will be helpful to the health plans, hospitals, and clinicians of the NaviNet network as they begin to transform their organizations to drive down cost while improving quality and collaboration."

Ingari is a veteran technology entrepreneur with extensive experience in database, network applications, and end-user adoption. He was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Shiva Corporation, a pioneer in the remote access market, taking the company public with Goldman Sachs in 1994. He served previously as Vice President and General Manager of the spreadsheet division at Lotus Development Corporation and as Vice President Worldwide Marketing during the launch of Lotus Notes. He was a founding Board member at Powersoft Corporation and served on the boards of Sybase and Microstrategy.

Ingari has contributed to industry standards and collaboration in several ways, serving as an original advisor to the Object Management Group (CORBA and web services specifications), as President of the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council, and as Chairman of the Price Waterhouse Coopers National Survey of Software Industry Operating Practices.

Ingari graduated from Cornell University, concentrating in American Literature and American Foreign Relations, graduating summa cum laude. He is a member of the Accountable Delivery System Institute's faculty and serves on the Presidential Advisory Board of the Berklee College of Music.
