NaviSite and Sun Collaborate to Offer Solution for ISVs and Startup Companies to Deliver Software-as-a-Service

Solution Powered by Sun Systems, Storage and Solaris 10 Coupled With NaviSite Hosting and Managed Services

ANDOVER, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 30, 2007 -- NaviSite, Inc. ( (NASDAQ: NAVI), a leading provider of application solutions, hosting and content delivery services, today announced that it is collaborating with Sun Microsystems to offer Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and startup companies the ability to easily develop and/or deploy their software applications to an on-demand environment hosted and supported by NaviSite on Sun's platform of products. The agreement combines Sun's industry leading Solaris™ 10 Operating System (OS), hardware systems and services with NaviSite's hosting and managed services for a best-in-breed solution.

"NaviSite has had a long standing relationship with Sun and we have deep experience with their technology," states Arthur Becker, NaviSite's Chief Executive Officer. "Our relationship is another step in creating solutions to leverage the strengths of each company to serve new and emerging markets."

As mission-critical solution providers for software developers, both Sun and NaviSite are acutely aware of the market's unique needs and are committed to providing full lifecycle support for tomorrow's next generation software companies so they can realize new revenue streams. Sun is working closely with NaviSite to deliver into the marketplace the ISV On-Demand Sandbox program and Web hosting services through the Sun Start-up Essentials (SM) program.

The ISV On-Demand Sandbox program is designed for existing software companies looking to offer on-demand capabilities. The program consists of hardware, software, hosting, managed services, and reporting at no cost for a period of up to 90 days for those companies who have signed an approved ISV Sandbox agreement. The program also includes a 99.5% Service Level Agreement (SLA) on the testing and development infrastructure. NaviSite also underpins the program with a number of optional fee-based services including SaaS Business Consulting, Technology Consulting, Application Development and Project Management services.

In addition, NaviSite will be offering eligible U.S.-based members of the Sun Startup Essentials program the ability to purchase Web hosting infrastructure and services from NaviSite to help jumpstart and grow their business. This offer further expands the Sun Startup Essentials program which helps early-stage companies to get to market more quickly on Sun's enterprise-class technologies at a cost that fits their needs to conserve cash. The program provides start up companies with the ability to develop and deploy their applications in an on-demand environment at a low monthly subscription price thereby reducing one of the significant barriers to entry into the on-demand arena. Now, regardless of size, startup companies can compete with larger firms by offering customers superior choices in on-demand application software.

"Sun has had a long relationship with the developer community, through our developer programs and award-winning tools, in addition to Java and the Solaris Operating System. We expect our relationship with NaviSite to bring a host of additional benefits to ISVs that are looking to quickly deploy on-demand SaaS delivery of their applications," said Juan Carlos Soto, vice president of Marketing for Sun Microsystems.

"ISVs are continuing to look at ways to strengthen customer relationships, identify new revenue opportunities, and reduce customer support costs. The new ISV On-Demand Sandbox and the hosted version of Startup Essentials offerings provide this market with the infrastructure to quickly offer a hosted on-demand solution while meeting the continued customer need of subscription based software that's easily accessible on-line," said James Fanella, Senior Vice President, Strategic Business Development of NaviSite, Inc.

Building on their long-standing partnership and ISV focus, NaviSite recently secured Opelin, Inc. as one of the first customers for this new program, and they are enabling delivery on-demand for Opelin's Titanize product. NaviSite will be utilizing a Sun hardware platform for implementation. Opelin selected NaviSite's Hosting and Managed Services as part of their deployment strategy for their Titanize application -- a personal content manager with unique integration between a PC and the Internet that provides 0-click and 1-click ease for users to backup, restore, remotely access, sync, share and publish their files. Opelin's technology is distributed by the world's largest software companies and service providers around the world.
