Transformation Team Cited for Creating Lean, Flexible Supply Chain at Navistar Supporting the Company's Goals for Global Expansion While Reducing Logistics Costs

(NYSE: CNW), today announced that the supply chain transformation team formed with Navistar International Corporation (NYSE: NAV) has been named to Supply & Demand Chain Executive's 2011 Pros to Know list.

Published by one of the supply chain industry's leading trade journals, the 11th annual list recognizes the top Pros to Know in the field, as well as 29 individual Practitioner Pros to Know, which this year included the eight-member Menlo/Navistar team.

In 2008, Menlo and Navistar launched a collaborative supply chain re-engineering program designed to transform Navistar's supply chain. Utilizing Lean methodologies and best practices, the program supports Navistar's global expansion objectives as well as goals for more efficient and responsive supply chain operations which deliver increased velocity and flexibility. The joint team so far has achieved an 11 percent reduction in Navistar's supply chain spend, well along to its five-year goal of a 25 percent reduction.

The Practitioner Pros to Know list names those exceptional corporate executives at manufacturing and non-manufacturing companies who are leading initiatives to help prepare their companies' supply chains for the significant challenges in the year ahead. Honored team members from Navistar are: Ed Melching, director of global logistics; Neal Cunningham, manager, strategic sourcing and engineering; Ben Bauman, global logistics operations manager; Greg Steen, strategy manager; and Bryan McMahon, finance manager. Menlo Worldwide's team members include Jeff Rivera, account director; Mike Greene, operations director; and Josh Mosgrove, finance director.
