NavStar Technologies, Inc. Releases Technical Details on Vehicle Product

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 13, 2012) - NavStar Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: NVSR), a company focused on producing and commercializing products and services for tracking/monitoring and reporting on the location and condition of high-value cargo and other assets, has released technical details on its product focused on the Vehicle Tracking market segment.

NavStar announced today more specific technical details on its Vehicle Power tracking and monitoring product utilizing GPS and Wireless that is scheduled to launch mid-year 2012. The Vehicle tracking market segment is a main focus of NavStar for 2012.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) revised the HOS safety requirements for commercial truck drivers in December 2011. The final rule reduces the maximum number of hours a truck driver can work within a week by 12 hours, limiting a driver's work week to 70 hours from 82 hours within seven days. Truck drivers also cannot drive after working eight hours without first taking a break of at least 30 minutes any time during that period.

"With additional focus from FMCSA on safety, the U.S. trucking market segment provides a significant revenue opportunity for us in the next 3 years," said N. Douglas Pritt, Chairman & CEO, NavStar Technologies, Inc. "The total available market is 20M Trucks in the U.S. and Canada. 3.9M GPS Vehicle Tracking units were sold in the past two years and 6.5M additional GPS Vehicle Tracking units are projected to be sold by 2012.The addressable market for this segment in the U.S. is ~3M units. Our low-cost ultra-small hardware and easy to use service will make us a major player in this market segment."

And for vehicle/Heavy duty tracking market, a J1962 (vehicle) and J1932/J1708 (Heavy Duty Vehicle) interfaces have been included and a 3G chipset has been integrated into the hardware. These products have been designed to be very cost effective and are positioned to be very competitive in this market segment.

The NavStar device also comes with a very intelligent power management system and a built-in battery that will last for 24 hours or longer. The built-in alert system sends alert messages to the command center when the power cable is cut, indicating that an abnormal condition occurred in the vehicle.

Coupled with a web-based user friendly map-drive user interface, NSTRAK-V will provide the industry's most cost effective, feature rich, user friendly tracking solution for the Vehicle tracking market segment.
